The American Media, Cornerstone Of Decline
The mindless divisiveness of our loud, obnoxious and remorseless media, along with corrupt politicians, profit before sanity corporations and a comatose electorate, continues to drive us to the brink. Over our heads in debt, paralyzed by governmental gridlock and with a massive shrug of the shoulders as the people stay focused on whatever televised mindlessness they're addicted to, there is no one at the controls of our runaway train, no one to throw on the brakes before we plunge off the precipice into the abyss below.
The disconnected shrill whine of the money driven media penetrates to the core of the American mind as they paint this one good, this one bad, this one oppressed, even if none of the above has even a hint of truth, their hidden masters weaving this way and that, unaware that even they are driven before the winds of the howling masses they themselves have helped drive to mindless frenzies. The strong, ambitious and ruthless captains of finance, industry, entertainment and government are brought to their knees by the capricious media and it's ravening hunt for titillating pieces of raw meat to be tossed to the masses subsisting in their darkened caverns of mediocrity.
Strident voices, loaded with angst, the “Five W's” relevance shrinks into infinity as it's spin, spin and more spin while demagoguery becomes the new journalistic paradigm. Political operatives are forced to paint their opponents with the sticky brush of demonization less the media shred them for conceding the slightest hint of credibility to their opponents. The best interests of our country have become secondary to the perceived spin of the media, and decisions at the highest levels are made not with the interests of the people in mind but how the media will react, and the repercussions thereof.
The media truly want to see us run full steam over the precipice; it would make a hell of a story. Indeed, instead of boarding the train and throwing on the brakes, our courageous titans of the press would board the train, set up the remote cameras, then chopper off to the most suitable locations to set up more cameras then, as our train of state rumbles off into nothingness the chopper would be there to record our descent and ultimate crash at the bottom.
My Point Being:
-----------
For an indicator of how much respect the American people receive from their government, news outlets and entertainment media just watch fifteen minutes of American TV and all those dirty little suspicions will be confirmed.
